Our commitment

Cotton Branch Refuge Project wants people with disabilities to be able to learn about adoption, complete an application, return to saved work, and communicate with our team. We are building this application with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as our accessibility goal.

If a disability or accessibility barrier makes this application difficult to use, email evan@cottonbranch.org. Tell us what part is causing difficulty and the best way to contact you.

Cotton Branch does not currently maintain a public telephone line. If a phone conversation is needed, we can arrange one by email. We can also help complete the application or provide its information in another reasonable format. Requesting accessibility assistance will not negatively affect an adoption decision.

Accessibility features

• Keyboard-accessible controls and visible keyboard focus
• Headings, labels, instructions, and error messages for form fields
• Status announcements for application steps, uploads, errors, and confirmations
• Support for browser zoom, text enlargement, reduced-motion preferences, and responsive screen sizes
• Text descriptions for meaningful images
• A save-and-return option for applicants who need additional time

Current assessment

Accessibility is being evaluated and improved during development. The application has not yet undergone its final comprehensive accessibility evaluation, so Cotton Branch does not currently claim full conformance with WCAG 2.2 Level AA.

The future adoption contract and electronic-signature process are not yet part of this application. They will be included in the final accessibility review before launch. Features supplied by third parties, such as address suggestions, may behave differently depending on the browser and assistive technology being used. Manual address entry remains available.

Please report an accessibility problem to evan@cottonbranch.org. Include the page, what you were trying to do, and the browser or assistive technology you were using if you know it. We will review the issue and work to provide access or another way to complete the task.
